AUCTION PROCEDURES & CONDITIONS OF SALE
Please read the following Auction Procedures and Conditions of Sale closely. By placing a bid in this sale, you acknowledge and agree that you are bound by these Auction Procedures and Conditions of Sale.
AUCTION REGISTRATION
You must register in order to bid in this auction before 5:00PM PST (8:00PM EST) on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011. If you have registered for a previous SCP internet auction, please use your previously established login and password to bid in this auction. Auction registration takes only a few moments. Please log on to www.monthly.scpauctions.com and click on the "Registration" tab. Please enter all of the required registration information and click "Register" at the bottom of the page. During registration, you will create a login and password. Your login will always be your email address and you will select your own password. You will only need to register once for this auction. You must be logged-in at www.monthly.scpauctions.com in order to place bids. Keep your login and password in a safe place for future reference, as they will remain your login and password for all future SCP internet auctions. Upon registering, you will receive an email confirming your registration. Immediately upon registering, you will be able to place bids on-line in this sale. During registration, you must provide two industry trade references. Unless you have an established account with SCP we will contact your two references to approve your account and bidding status. At our sole discretion and for any reason, SCP Auctions retains the right to revoke an account and any bids previously placed by that account. In the event that an account and any bids are revoked, the account holder will be notified by phone and/or email. BIDDING
(PLEASE NOTE CHANGE TO SCP AUCTIONS CLOSING PROCEDURE)
This is an internet-only auction. All items that meet reserve are sold to the highest bidder. Bidding for this auction will open on Monday, August 29thth, 2011 at www.scpauctions.com. Immediately after registering and receiving email confirmation of your login and password (see REGISTRATION above), you will be able to bid in this sale. You must be logged-in to the auction at www.scpauctions.com using your log-in (your email address) and your password in order to place bids in this sale. IMPORTANT: The final day of bidding for all lots is Wednesday, September 14th, 2011. In order to be eligible to bid on a lot during the Extended Bidding Period that begins at 6:00pm PST on September 14th (the final day), you must have placed a bid on that lot before the end of the Initial Bidding Period (before 6:00pm PST on Wednesday, September 14th). IF YOU HAVE NOT BID ON A SPECIFIC ITEM BEFORE 6:00pm PST ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th, YOU CANNOT BID ON THAT ITEM AFTER 6:00pm PST. The entire auction will remain open until 15 minutes passes without a bid being placed on any item in the auction. PLEASE NOTE: IN PAST AUCTIONS WE HAVE CLOSED LOTS INDIVIDUALLY BASED ON A 30-MINUTE CLOCK. WE HAVE CHANGED THIS FORMAT. ALL LOTS IN THIS AUCTION WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR BIDDING UNTIL THE CLOSE OF THE ENTIRE AUCTION. Based on past experience, we expect the auction to continue past 11:00pm PST. Should bidding continue past 11:00pm PST, there will be no warning as to exactly when the auction will close.
BID NOTIFICATIONS VIA EMAIL
Upon placing a successful bid making you the current high bidder on a lot, you will receive an email notification confirming that you are current high bidder on that lot. If and when you are outbid on that lot, you will receive a new email notifying you that you have been outbid. In the event that you place a bid but are immediately outbid by another bidder's Maximum Bid, you will be notified instantly on the computer screen that you have been outbid and will not receive an email notification.
MINIMUM BIDS, BIDDING INCREMENTS AND MAXIMUM BIDS
Each lot in the auction has a Minimum Bid (designated in the printed catalogue and online as "MB"). When bidding, you will be able to view the current high bid for each lot. When you want to bid, you will click through to the individual lot page. There you will be able to view a pull-down menu of incremental bid amounts. You will have the option of selecting the next incremental bid (the lowest amount that the pull-down menu displays) or any bid higher than the next incremental bid (a Maximum Bid). If you select a Maximum Bid, the auction program will bid incrementally on your behalf one bid at a time up to but not exceeding your "maximum" bid amount with the intention of winning the item at the lowest possible price. Bid increments are set at 10% increases. In the event that two or more bidders place the same Maximum Bid, then the earliest received bid will be recognized as the successful high bid.
MY BIDS
All of your bids within your account will be managed and viewable in the "My Bids" section of the site. After you are logged in to the auction using your login and password, My Bids will be a click-able tab on the horizontal navigation bar. In "My Bids," you will be able to view a list of all of the lots that you have bid on in this auction, the current high bid for each lot you have bid on, whether or not you are the current high bidder, and your Maximum Bids on each lot (for lots you have placed a "Maximum" Bid).
INITIAL BIDDING PERIOD
The initial bidding period will begin at 10:00AM PST on Monday, August 29thth. The Initial Bidding Period will end at 6:00PM PST (9:00PM EST) on Wednesday, September 14th. You must place a bid on a lot prior to the end of the Initial Bidding Period (Between August 29thth at 10:00AM PST and Wednesday, September 14th at 6:00PM PST (9:00PM EST) in order to be eligible to bid on that lot during the Extended Bidding Period and the Closing Bidding Period on Wednesday, September 14th. There are no exceptions to this rule. If only one bid at or above the Minimum Bid has been made on a lot when the Initial Bidding Period ends, that bidder will be declared the winner of the lot at the conclusion of the Initial Bidding Period.

EXTENDED BIDDING PERIOD
The Extended Bidding Period will apply to all lots that have received two or more bids above the Minimum Bid during the Initial Bidding Period. The Extended Bidding Period begins on Wednesday, September 14th at 6:00PM Pacific Standard Time (9:00PM Eastern Standard Time). During Extended Bidding you are only eligible to bid on items that you have previously placed a bids on.
AUCTION CLOSING
(PLEASE READ, AS OUR RULES HAVE CHANGED)
The entire auction will remain open until 15 minutes passes without a bid being placed on any item in the entire auction. PLEASE NOTE: IN PAST AUCTIONS WE HAVE CLOSED LOTS INDIVIDUALLY BASED ON A 30-MINUTE CLOCK. WE HAVE CHANGED THIS FORMAT. ALL LOTS IN THIS AUCTION WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR BIDDING UNTIL THE CLOSE OF THE ENTIRE AUCTION. Based on past experience, we expect the auction to continue past 11:00pm PST. HAMMER PRICE AND THE BUYER'S PREMIUM
The bid amounts placed in this sale at www.monthly.scpauctions.com are sometimes also referred to as the hammer prices. A Buyer's Premium will be added to the winning bid or hammer price and is payable by the purchaser as part of the total purchase price. The Buyer's Premium is equal to 20% of the winning bid price. For example, in the event that you win a lot with a successful bid price (hammer price) of $1,000, then your total cost for that lot will be equal to the $1,000 successful bid price plus the 20% Buyer's Premium. In this example, the total cost for that lot will equal $1,200 (plus shipping, handling, insurance, and California sales tax if applicable).
INVOICING
Invoices will be emailed to all winning bidders. Hard copies will not be mailed unless requested. Invoices are due and payable by Wednesday, September 28th, 2011. Shipping, packing, insurance, and California sales tax (if applicable) will be included on the invoice. 8.75% state sales tax will be charged to residents of California unless you provide a valid California tax resale number. If you have a valid California resale license, you will have the opportunity to check the appropriate box when registering for the auction on-line. You must also fax a copy of your valid California resale license to Fax 949-643-2800 with a cover letter that includes your name, account name and telephone number. We will then mail you a California re-sale certificate which you must complete, sign and mail back to SCP. If you check the re-sale box online during registration, but do not provide us with a copy of your California resale number and return the certificate to SCP, we are required to collect and remit sales tax.
PAYMENT
Credit cards are not accepted. Payment may be in the form of personal or business checks, certified checks, traveler checks, money orders, or wire transfers. All payments must clear prior to items being shipped. Invoices are due and payable by Wednesday, September 28th, 2011. Any invoice remaining unpaid for more than 20 days after an auction is subject to cancellation at the discretion of SCP Auctions and future bidding privileges may be revoked. Payment must be mailed to SCP Auctions, 32451 Golden Lantern, Suite 308, Laguna Niguel, Ca. 92677. Please include your account name and lot numbers purchased as the "additional information" that you may provide when sending the wire transfer.
SHIPPING
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions California offices. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS Ground unless we contact you to discuss an alternative and proposed shipping method. If you would like your items shipped in a different method such as UPS Next Day or UPS 2-Day, you must contact Rich Atherton, Shipping Manager at SCP Auctions to discuss alternative shipping instructions. Prior to bidding, please be aware of estimated shipping costs, especially for large or heavy lots. You may contact SCP for any shipping estimates for lots prior to bidding or the close of the auction. If you intend to pick up your items in person at SCP's California offices, please call SCP to schedule. Payment must clear prior to items being available for pick-up.
PSA/DNA AUTOGRAPH AUTHENTICATION POLICY
SCP Auctions is committed, with respect to signed material, to selling only items that have been reviewed and authenticated by PSA/DNA. Selected items in this auction include full letters of authenticity (LOA’s) from PSA/DNA. All other items have been “Pre-Certified” by PSA/DNA. Please note that it is the responsibility of the bidder to review the lot description for each lot in order to determine what form of authentication will accompany each item. Winning bidders may submit their “Pre-Certified” items to PSA/DNA within 60 days of the auction closing with their invoice or proof of purchase from our auction house to receive special pricing from PSA/DNA on upgrading to full letters of authentication (LOA’s).
